Teacher of Engineering & Design Technology (Product Design)

Start date: Easter 2020 or September 2020

We are seeking to appoint an inspiring, energetic and motivated teacher who is able to deliver the design and technology curriculum across KS3 and KS4. The academy has developed the vocational curriculum with a view to the future career opportunities for our students in these fast paced times. You will either have a good track record of excellent practical and classroom practice and sustained added value outcomes for students or we would welcome applications from an NQT with the potential.

This is an opportunity for flexible and adaptable candidates of have impact on the direction of the qualifications that the academy offers and be part of on-going development of our relevant curriculum provision.

Attendance Officer

Salary: NJC Grade 4: £21,166 to £22,462 pro-rata term time only + 5 days

The Academy are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and self-motivated Academy Attendance Officer. The successful candidate will be able to have an understating of SIMS reports and good use of excel and be responsible for the day to day monitoring of student attendance and punctuality in the Academy. You will ensure that the school has effective and efficient operational support functions relating to student attendance that meet the needs and expectations of all stakeholders including compliance with the Trust Head Office policies and processes.

Responsibilities Include
  • Work with individual pupils and parents, carers and families to improve student attendance and punctuality.
  • Undertake first day contact with parents/carers. Follow up lack of response to first day contact and other contacts by home visiting or meeting parent/carers in school.
  • Work with the Local Authority and other agencies, where necessary, to further address persistent absenteeism.
  • Report, analyse and monitor relevant data such as attendance and lateness to identify trends and issues and to ensure a proactive response.
  • Analyse and interpret information or situations and to solve varied problems or develop solutions such as to help plan strategies and interventions to address individual pupil issues.
