From an early age, all I ever wanted to do was teach. I grew up in Greater Manchester and spent most of my childhood surrounded by teachers (most of my family are in the teaching profession). Whilst at secondary school I was inspired by my German teacher to pursue my love of languages at college. I studied French, German and Russian at college and then went onto Bangor University to study French and German. At university, I met my husband and we moved to the Surrey, where I took up my first teaching post. After 4 years I went onto become the Head of Languages in a Language College in Surrey. Following the birth of my first child, I then moved closer to home and got a job as the Head of MFL in secondary school in Hampshire. In 2012, my 3 children , my husband and I moved to Lincolnshire, and it was at this point that I started my career at Ormiston as Head of MFL. After 3 years, I was appointed as Assistant Principal. My role includes working closely with the pastoral team on behaviour and attendance and improving student’s attitudes to leaning. I am also the designated safeguarding lead here in the Academy. I love my job! The students at Ormiston inspire me each and every day. I enjoy working with families and the wider community and making a difference to students’ lives on a daily basis.
