I grew up and was educated in Lincolnshire before moving abroad for 14 years, working for the British Army in Germany and Canada. I graduated from Lincoln University and made the decision to return to the Lincolnshire area to teach so that I could give something back to my local community. I started my teaching career in 2004 as an English teacher working in Ormiston Maritime Academy (Formally Herford Technology School). In 2008 I was promoted to Lead Teacher to support with Teaching and Learning across the school. I was further promoted to Communications Director of Learning in 2010, leading and managing the English and MFL department; holding this post until 2013 when I was promoted to Assistant Principal. I have five years’ experience as a senior leader and I am currently responsible for ITT/NQT development, Careers, Enrichment, Student Leadership and Raising Aspirations alongside my role as the current Contingent Commander for our CCF.

As you can see, I am incredibly committed to Ormiston Maritime Academy and passionately committed to improving life chances and opportunities for young people in Grimsby.
